The 1769-OW8 is used with Allen Bradley’s 1769 CompactLogix product family. This module has Eight (8) relay type outputs that can be used to drive AC and DC loads. The module has Two (2) channel groups, each with Eight (8) points each. The module can be used with MicroLogix 500 and CompactLogix controllers. Configure using RSLogix500 programming software and RSLogix5000 or Studio5000 programming software respectively. The module’s configurable parameters include module inhibition, packet interval, slot assignment and revision number provide a convenient way to fine tune the operation of the module. Further parameterization can be done by accessing the module’s input data files. The data files store the status of the input addresses as well as module diagnostics. When terminating signal wires, use single conductor wire type Cu-90°C (194°F) with nominal sizez range of #14 to #22 AWG. For stranded wires, use Cu-90°C (194°F) with wire size range of #16 to #22 AWG. The power supply distance rating of 1769-OW8 is 8 modules. There is no limit to the number of modules that can be used as long as the distance rating is observed. The module can be inserted to any adjacent I/O module including the controller in the chassis. The module can be mounted on a 35 X 75 or 35 X 15 mm DIN rail. When installing the module, remove power from the backplane by turning off the power supply as electric arcs may occur during the locking of bus levers. The mounting surface of the module must be properly grounded by connecting to a grounding bar or a grounded metal panel.
