The 1769-SM1 is used with Allen Bradley’s MicroLogix 1500 and1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. The module has Three (3) SCANport and DPI communication ports to perform data exchange between drives or power products. It automatically detects the DPI or SCANport host by performing automatic baud rate detection. The 1769-SM1 can be as an expansion I/O for MicroLogix 1500, CompactLogix and communication adapters. A variety of tolls can be used to configure the module for DPI communication. Software tools such as PowerFlex HIM, RSNetworx, DriveExplorer (v30.01 or higher) or DriveExecutive (v1.01 or higher). For SCANport communication, the controller’s configuration software can be used. Only MicroLogix 1500 LRP series C, CompactLogix L32E and L35E C support explicit messaging. The 1769-SM1 has Two (2) configuration methods such as Controller Mode and Parameter Mode. Controller mode uses the data downloaded to the controller. The data is transferred to the 1769-SM1 during power-up or when placed to run mode. The Parameter mode uses internal parameters to configure the module. Up to Four (4) bi-directional pairs of data links can be configured for I/O messaging, including logic command / reference function. The module has Two (2) colored (Red/Green) status indicators for quick view of the status of the module’s health and communication. The module is powered by the Compact bus. The 1769-SM1 compatible Allen Bradley DPI communication partners are PowerFlex 70, 700, 700H, 700S, Liquid cooled drives, 7000 and SMC flex. For SCANport, the compatible devices are 1305 drives, 1336 REGEN drives, 2364F RGU,1336 PLUS drives, 1336 SPIDER drives, SMC Dialog Plus, 1336 PLUS II drives, 1394 Servo drives, SMP-3,1336 IMPACT drives, 1397 drives, 1336 FORCE drives and 1557 drives.
